Certificates from a list of names

Making a certificate for each person in Word means a fiddly mail merge or a lot of copy and paste. Paste the names, write the wording once, and download one PDF with a certificate for every person.

The app opens with example data, so you see a finished sheet first. Free for up to 3 sheets per PDF. No account, and nothing is uploaded.

How to make certificates from a list

  1. Put the names in a spreadsheet with a header row. Add a column for anything else that changes from person to person, such as Course, Date or Hours.
  2. Paste it into Rowprint and pick Certificate, landscape.
  3. Write the lines: “Certificate of Completion” as the title, {{Name}} largest, then a line such as “for completing {{Course}} on {{Date}} ”.
  4. Choose the serif font and a border, check a few pages in the preview, then download.
  5. Print at 100% on card stock or certificate paper.

Tips

  • Shrink text to fit keeps a long name on its line, so every page has the same layout.
  • Leave a blank line near the bottom for a signature, and sign each one after printing.
  • Printing for a class or a team? Sort the list the way you will hand them out before you paste it. Pages print in list order.
  • Free PDFs hold 3 certificates. Pro prints the whole list in one PDF.

Questions

Can I print on pre-printed certificate paper?
Yes. Turn off the border and add padding so the text clears the printed design. Print one test page on plain paper to check where the lines fall.
Can each certificate show a different course or date?
Yes. Any column in your list can appear in the text, such as {{Course}} or {{Date}}, so each page gets that person’s details.
Can I add a logo or a signature image?
Yes, with Pro, which adds a logo or picture to every certificate. On the free plan, print on paper that already has your logo, and sign the certificates by hand.
